Membership

There are four main classes of membership of the Institute, namely: Fellows, Members, Associates and Registered students.

CHARTERED LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC ADMINISTRATOR:

A person shall be enrolled as a Chartered Local Government and Public Administrator if:

• he passes the qualifying professional Examination conducted by the Council and completes the practical training prescribed; or
• he holds a qualification accepted by the Council as sufficient practical experience in Local Government and Public Administration; or
• he holds a qualification granted outside Nigeria which is recognised by the Council and he is by law entitled to practice the profession for all purposes in the country in which the qualification is granted. In addition to the foregoing, an application for registration shall satisfy the Council that he has attained the age of the 18years, had not been convicted in or outside Nigeria and that he is a person of good character.
